Treatments in this department
What this covers. Which of these is right for you is decided with your clinician at a consultation, never from a list.
Comprehensive Dental Examinations
A detailed assessment of your teeth, gums and bite, with time to discuss concerns and create a clear treatment plan.
Scaling & Polishing
Professional removal of plaque, hardened deposits and surface stains to support gum health and leave teeth feeling clean.
Air Polishing
A controlled stream of air, water and fine powder removes biofilm and selected surface stains, complementing your professional cleaning.
Dental X-Rays
Diagnostic images taken when needed to assess areas that cannot be fully seen during an examination, including between teeth and around roots.
Fluoride Treatments
Professional fluoride applications help strengthen enamel and reduce decay risk, particularly in teeth needing additional protection.
Dental Sealants
Thin protective coatings placed in the grooves of suitable back teeth to make vulnerable surfaces easier to protect against decay.
Oral Cancer Screening
Examination of the mouth's soft tissues for unusual changes that may need monitoring, further investigation or referral.
Personalised Preventive Care
Practical guidance on brushing, interdental cleaning and oral health habits, with recall visits tailored to your individual needs.
What to expect
Your visit starts with a conversation and an examination, with X-rays only where they add something. Your dentist explains what they see and the options in plain language, and nothing starts until you have agreed the plan. Local anaesthetic is used where a step would otherwise be uncomfortable, and you can ask for a pause at any time.
Aftercare basics
Your dentist gives you written aftercare for your case before you leave. The basics usually include gentle brushing and flossing as normal, a quiet day for the treated area, and a review visit so healing and comfort can be checked. If anything feels wrong, message us on WhatsApp and we reply during clinic hours.
Five questions
The questions people ask before this treatment. Anything else, ask us on WhatsApp.
How often should I come for a check-up?
For most people every six months, with cleaning at the same visit. Your dentist sets a recall that fits your gum health and decay risk.
What happens at a check-up?
A look at your teeth, gums and bite, X-rays only when they are needed, a professional clean, and time to talk through anything you have noticed. You leave knowing exactly where you stand.
Is scaling painful?
Usually not. Some people feel sensitivity where the gums are inflamed; tell your dentist and the approach is adjusted, with local anaesthetic available if needed.
Which dentist will I see?
All three of our dentists work across these treatments. Tell us what you need and we book you with the right person, or name the dentist you would like to see.
