Treatments in this department
What this covers. Which of these is right for you is decided with your clinician at a consultation, never from a list.
Clear Aligners
A sequence of custom-made, removable transparent trays that gradually move teeth into alignment while fitting discreetly into everyday life.
Metal Braces
Fixed brackets and wires that guide tooth movement to address crowding, spacing and a wide range of bite concerns.
Ceramic Braces
Tooth-coloured brackets that provide fixed orthodontic treatment with a less noticeable appearance than metal braces.
Self-Ligating Braces
A fixed brace system with built-in clips to hold the archwire, selected according to your orthodontic needs.
Bite Correction
Treatment to improve how the upper and lower teeth meet, including suitable cases of overbite, underbite, open bite and crossbite.
Crowding & Spacing Correction
Planned tooth movement to align overlapping teeth or close unwanted gaps while considering overall bite function.
Early Orthodontic Assessment
An assessment of developing teeth and jaw relationships to identify concerns and determine the most appropriate time for treatment.
Orthodontic Retainers
Custom-made fixed or removable retainers that help preserve tooth position after active orthodontic treatment.
What to expect
Your visit starts with a conversation and an examination, with X-rays only where they add something. Your dentist explains what they see and the options in plain language, and nothing starts until you have agreed the plan. Local anaesthetic is used where a step would otherwise be uncomfortable, and you can ask for a pause at any time.
Aftercare basics
Your dentist gives you written aftercare for your case before you leave. The basics usually include gentle brushing and flossing as normal, a quiet day for the treated area, and a review visit so healing and comfort can be checked. If anything feels wrong, message us on WhatsApp and we reply during clinic hours.
Five questions
The questions people ask before this treatment. Anything else, ask us on WhatsApp.
Aligners or braces: which is right for me?
Both move teeth; the choice depends on your bite, the movements needed and how you live. Your dentist assesses you and talks through the options, including what each asks of you day to day.
How long does treatment take?
Anything from several months to a couple of years, depending on the case. You get an estimate at consultation and regular visits to keep it on track.
When should a child be assessed?
An early orthodontic assessment around age seven lets us see how the jaws and teeth are developing and decide whether, and when, treatment would help.
Which dentist will I see?
All three of our dentists work across these treatments. Tell us what you need and we book you with the right person, or name the dentist you would like to see.
