Treatments in this department
What this covers. Which of these is right for you is decided with your clinician at a consultation, never from a list.
Simple & Surgical Tooth Extractions
Careful removal of damaged or problematic teeth when they cannot be predictably restored, with treatment tailored to the complexity of each case.
Wisdom Tooth Removal
Removal of wisdom teeth that cause pain, repeated infection or damage to neighbouring teeth, including those trapped beneath the gum or bone.
Impacted Tooth Exposure
Surgical exposure of an unerupted tooth, often coordinated with orthodontic treatment to help guide it into the correct position.
Apicectomy (Root-End Surgery)
Removal of an affected root tip and sealing of the root end to address persistent infection around a previously root-treated tooth.
Jaw Cyst Assessment & Removal
Assessment and surgical management of selected jaw cysts, with tissue examination where required to establish a diagnosis.
Oral Biopsy & Lesion Assessment
Evaluation of unusual oral tissue changes, with a small tissue sample taken when needed for laboratory diagnosis.
Frenectomy
Release or reshaping of a restrictive tissue attachment beneath the tongue or lip when it affects oral function or dental care.
Pre-Prosthetic Surgery & Alveoloplasty
Reshaping of oral tissues or uneven jawbone to create a more suitable foundation for dentures or other planned restorations.
What to expect
Your visit starts with a conversation and an examination, with X-rays only where they add something. Your dentist explains what they see and the options in plain language, and nothing starts until you have agreed the plan. Local anaesthetic is used where a step would otherwise be uncomfortable, and you can ask for a pause at any time.
Aftercare basics
Your dentist gives you written aftercare for your case before you leave. The basics usually include gentle brushing and flossing as normal, a quiet day for the treated area, and a review visit so healing and comfort can be checked. If anything feels wrong, message us on WhatsApp and we reply during clinic hours.
Five questions
The questions people ask before this treatment. Anything else, ask us on WhatsApp.
Will I be awake?
Most procedures here are done under local anaesthetic, so you are awake but the area is numb. Your dentist explains what you will feel before starting and you can ask for a pause at any time.
How long does recovery take?
It depends on the procedure. Simple extractions usually settle within a few days; wisdom teeth and surgical cases can take longer. You leave with written aftercare and a review date.
Do I need an X-ray first?
Usually, yes. A radiograph shows the roots, the bone and anything nearby, so the procedure can be planned properly. It is taken here at the clinic.
Which dentist will I see?
All three of our dentists work across these treatments. Tell us what you need and we book you with the right person, or name the dentist you would like to see.
