Treatments in this department
What this covers. Which of these is right for you is decided with your clinician at a consultation, never from a list.
Tooth-Coloured Fillings
Composite restorations repair cavities and small areas of damage while blending with the surrounding tooth colour.
Deep Cavity Restorations
Careful management of extensive decay, with treatment selected according to pulp health and the amount of healthy tooth remaining.
Ceramic Inlays & Onlays
Custom-made ceramic restorations rebuild larger damaged areas while retaining healthy tooth structure wherever possible.
Chipped & Fractured Tooth Repair
Restoration of broken tooth structure using bonding, fillings or crowns, depending on the size and location of the damage.
Tooth Wear Restoration
Rebuilding teeth affected by grinding, erosion or other wear, alongside assessment of the underlying cause.
Replacement of Defective Fillings
Replacement of worn, broken or poorly sealed fillings when needed to restore tooth protection and function.
Post-Root Canal Restorations
Rebuilding and protecting a root-treated tooth with a suitable filling, onlay or crown based on its remaining strength.
Conservative Restorative Care
Treatment planned to address damage while preserving as much healthy natural tooth structure as possible.
What to expect
Your visit starts with a conversation and an examination, with X-rays only where they add something. Your dentist explains what they see and the options in plain language, and nothing starts until you have agreed the plan. Local anaesthetic is used where a step would otherwise be uncomfortable, and you can ask for a pause at any time.
Aftercare basics
Your dentist gives you written aftercare for your case before you leave. The basics usually include gentle brushing and flossing as normal, a quiet day for the treated area, and a review visit so healing and comfort can be checked. If anything feels wrong, message us on WhatsApp and we reply during clinic hours.
Five questions
The questions people ask before this treatment. Anything else, ask us on WhatsApp.
Are tooth-coloured fillings as strong as silver ones?
Modern composite fillings are strong and are the usual choice for most cavities; for larger areas a ceramic inlay, onlay or crown may be recommended instead. Your dentist explains the right option for the tooth.
I chipped a tooth. What should I do?
Message us with a photo on WhatsApp or call the clinic. Keep any broken piece, avoid chewing on that side, and we see you as soon as we can during clinic hours.
Do old fillings need replacing?
Only when they are worn, broken or no longer sealed. Your dentist checks existing fillings at each examination and tells you if one needs attention.
Which dentist will I see?
All three of our dentists work across these treatments. Tell us what you need and we book you with the right person, or name the dentist you would like to see.
