Updated · General information, not advice for your own case. Your dentist explains what applies to you at your visit.
It depends on your plan, not on the clinic
Whether a dental visit is covered is decided by your own policy: the plan your employer or you chose, its annual dental limit, its co-payment and its list of covered treatments. Two patients with the same insurer can have very different cover. Many Dubai plans now include some dental benefit, but it is often limited, so it is worth checking before you book anything beyond a check-up.
What is usually covered
Where a plan has a dental benefit, it most often covers the basics needed for dental health: examinations and consultations, the X-rays your dentist needs, scaling and cleaning, fillings, extractions and root canal treatment, usually with a co-payment and up to an annual limit. Emergency treatment after an accident is often handled under the medical part of the policy.
What is usually not covered
Treatment that is mainly cosmetic, such as whitening and veneers, is rarely covered. Orthodontics, implants and crowns are covered only on some plans, and often only after a waiting period or with prior approval from the insurer.
How to check before your visit
Send a photo of the front and back of your insurance card to Murano on WhatsApp. The team checks your plan with the insurer and tells you what is covered before you arrive. If a treatment needs approval, we request it and you only go ahead once you know where you stand. Any fees not covered are confirmed with you before treatment.
