Dental Veneers
Thin porcelain or composite shells bonded to the front of teeth to refine their shape, colour and proportions, planned with you before anything is changed.

What to expect
Your first visit is a consultation: your dentist examines your teeth and gums, checks your bite, takes photographs and asks what you would like to change. If veneers suit you, the shape and shade are planned with you, and you can see a trial before anything is bonded. Porcelain veneers usually take more than one visit, because they are made to measure; composite veneers are built up on the tooth. Your dentist explains whether any enamel needs to be shaped, the alternatives such as whitening or bonding, and the fees, before you decide.
Aftercare basics
Your dentist gives you written aftercare before you leave. The basics usually include brushing and flossing as normal, avoiding biting very hard things such as ice or pen tops with the front teeth, a night guard if you grind, and regular check-ups so the veneers and gums can be looked after.
Five questions
The questions people ask before this treatment. Anything else, ask us on WhatsApp.
How long do veneers last?
It depends on the material, your bite, habits such as grinding, and how you look after them. Porcelain usually lasts longer than composite. Your dentist explains what to expect for your teeth at the consultation.
Porcelain or composite veneers: which is right for me?
Porcelain is made in a laboratory and resists staining well; composite is shaped on the tooth in fewer visits and is easier to repair. Which suits you depends on your teeth, your bite and what you want to change, and your dentist talks you through both.
Can I see how they will look first?
Yes. Photographs and smile planning let you discuss the proposed shape, and a trial of shape and shade is checked with you in daylight before anything is bonded.
Does my insurance cover this?
That depends on your plan and on why the treatment is needed. Send a photo of your insurance card on WhatsApp and we check your cover before your visit. Any fees are confirmed with you before treatment.
Which dentist will I see?
All three of our dentists work across this treatment. Tell us what you need and we book you with the right person, or name the dentist you would like to see.
